Yaay!!! Finally, the holiday season has begun and Christmas is just around the corner. I am so happy to celebrate this festival with you all of you. As we already know that Christmas is all about exchanging gifts, decorating the tree and the house, wearing fancy clothes and spending time with family and friends. In addition to this, don’t forget to wait for Santa Claus to arrive my friends 🤪. Festivals mean wearing pretty clothes and with this comes the constant struggle of thinking how to dress. Christmas is the season of colours like red, green, gold and white. Such pretty and bright colours, but if not combined without any thought can easily turn you into a walking Christmas tree or a Santa Claus.
So, you don’t have to worry now as I have come to help you guys with some tips and ideas in this article. If you will read this blog, you will be more of a fashionista than be a fashion disaster. Here are some colour combo outfit ideas, especially combined with red as well as some ideas about getting the festive vibe but not following the basic way.
1. Mix of Red and White
Christmas most favourite colour is definitely going to be red as we all already know. Mixing red with white as print in a single outfit will break the monotony of the red and will give more definition to our outfit. You can also wear separate piece in white and red in a single outfit to look great for the Christmas party. Add a sparkly red short skirt with red and white stripe knit sweater. Add a mix of accessories like bag, socks, sleepers and jewellery.
2. Red As Monochrome
Wearing all-red outfit without looking like Santa is quite a tricky task. Avoid it at all cost unless you know your fashion game. Trying everything red is quite a risky move but if it done right, it will be a head turner. Plan your outfit way before and try it out before to know what to expect on the party day.
3. Red with Gold
Red and gold is a classy combo and its forever going to be the evergreen style. Either wear a red outfit with gold accessory or a gold outfit with red accessory. The result will be quite dazzling both the way. This combo captures the festive vibe and is an easy outfit choice. A golden sequin dress with red heels you make you shine like a star.
4. Red with Pink and Burgundy
Burgundy, a dark shade of red if mixed with bright red can result in a good outfit choice for the Christmas party. Both the colours are from the same family and hence can be handled in quite an easy way. Wear a pink and red stripe tee with red skirt and matching heels. Add a mic of pink and red in the accessory and you are ready to shine. In a similar way wear burgundy dress and boots with red overcoat and purse. Both the outfit are quite eye catching in my opinion.
5. Red as an Accessory
Christmas outfit will never be complete without the perfect accessory. Any colour outfit can be complimented with red accessories. So, wear a red jacket or a red scarf or you can wear both if you want. Style your outfit in such a way that it looks hot as a chilli. Don’t mind my thrashy jokes guys.
6. As A Gift and Present
Don’t want to wear a red classic outfit? Don’t worry, there a solution to every problem. And here is yours. When you do not want to wear red but also do not want to look apart from the rest of your family and friends at party. In that case wrap your gifts in red paper or red bag and carry it with you so you will not be apart and not have to wear red as well.
The most popular outfit of this year has to be pyjamas. As per the world conditions and lockdowns, people are bound to practise social distancing and hence no friends and no parties. Pyjamas is the popular outfit choice by all especially for Christmas night at home. So, who says it don’t have to be a festive wear? Wear a onesie or just one either top or bottom in red or green and you are Christmas pyjama party ready.
8. Red With Black
Red with black is a classy and sexy combination. Black and red has been the combo favourite from years and will certainly be for coming years as well. Wear a red dress and style it up with black boots and heels. And don’t forget to add matching purse. It makes you look hot and always in fashion line. Wear a black leather jacket on a red dress with black boots. Style it up with belt and a hat, protect yourself from the cold in style.
9. Red With Prints
Red solid mixed with different prints? Absolutely yes. And why not? It will give an edge to the basic red outfit and will still keep you Christmas ready. Wear a cheetah print with solid red knit sweater. Style it up with a broad black belt and matching purse and heels. Or you can wear a red printed top with white or black pants. The choice is always yours.
10. Red In Makeup
Makeup? Yes, you see it right. Getting the Christmas vibes is not only through outfits but makeup as well. Get an eyeshadow or a manicure with Christmas inspiration and wear whatever you want without going for the usual red. It will give you the exact feel but not sticking to the usual red and green dress code. Makeup also can be made subtle or exaggerated as per your preference.
11. Twinning Outfit with Friends and Family
I totally understand that wearing matching outfits lift up the festive spirt but try to think innovative about this. Wearing the same ugly Christmas sweater with family can seem boring all the time. If you want to twin try wearing same outfit design in opposite colours. You can also keep one aspect of design, colour or outfit same and change the rest.
Mistakes to Avoid
Yeah, I understand you want to be flashier but don’t go overboard with your outfit and styling. Sometimes wearing everything ends up in a complete disaster. Choose your outfit carefully. Decide what kind of accessory you want to show and what not. Prioritise your preferences and choose the right colours. Don’t forget that “Less is More”.
Christmas is quite an important event for us all as it comes only once a year. So, plan your outfit carefully in advance. Know what your personal style is and try to enhance your outfit as per that. I hope you can also get good ideas for yourself by following this blog. This blog will for sure save you from becoming a complete fashion disaster. Stay happy guys and kill with your fashion game.
